Who we are and what we do
Private Way residents in Arlington enjoy greater control over their individual frontages than residents of public thoroughfares, most notably in our ability to park for 24 hours. One disadvantage, however, is that maintenance of our roads is a private responsibility, since the Town of Arlington routinely maintains only public streets.
Since 1932 your Association, led by an elected volunteer Board of Directors, has worked to maintain a significant part of the Private Way road system of Precinct 12 between Gray Street and Eastern Avenue (Association map). See the road work page for details on the maintenance we organize on behalf of the neighborhood.
In recent years the participation rate has fallen, with less than three out of four households paying dues in a given year. This has stretched our annual road maintenance budget quite thin. We encourage residents who are familiar with the Tower Association to help inform new neighbors about the function and value of the Association.
